Seasonal Eye Health Checklist – Summer
Use this checklist this Summer when thinking about your eye health, and follow these easy steps to keeping your eyes healthy.
While it is a great idea to wear sunglasses year-round, it is especially important in the summer months. UV rays can damage your eyesight (even when you cannot see the sun), so remember to pack sunglasses for your entire family before heading into the sunshine.
If you have not previously tried polarized lenses, you don’t know how much you’re missing out! Polarized lenses are designed to reduce glare and provide excellent color and clarity through special filters. Consider visiting our office to try on a pair of polarized glasses and take a step outside this summer — you’ll likely be very impressed!
Want to be REALLY impressed? Ask to try a pair of polarized Maui Jim sunglasses next time you’re in our office. Maui Jim sunglasses are famous for their lenses and are among the best available.
Don’t wear contact lenses swimming unless you’re also wearing goggles. Non-prescription swim goggles can be purchased at the local sporting goods store; but, if you’re a frequent swimmer, you might want to consider prescription swim goggles before your next trip to the pool. Stop by our office and ask a member of our friendly staff to tell you about prescription swim goggles.
School is almost here, and while some schools offer in-school vision screenings, they are not a substitute for an annual comprehensive eye exam. Seeing what is on the chalkboard is a key part to learning in the classroom, so don’t hesitate to request an appointment for your next eye exam in Gallup.
