Optometrist Employment-to-Ownership in Sunny New Mexico

Practice in a Culturally Diverse Town on the Doorstep of Outdoor Activities and Adventure Tourism

The Opportunity:
Gallup Vision Source—an established private practice in Northwest New Mexico—is seeking an Associate Optometrist interested in future practice ownership.

The ideal candidate will start Summer 2016 and successfully pass the New Mexico Board Exam in August. Working alongside Dr. Blake for 2016-17, you will transition into the primary optometrist/owner once the flexible Associateship term has completed. Our timeline is flexible and can be adapted for the right candidate.

With notable annual gross revenue and consistent year-round cash flow, this practice is an outstanding opportunity for the OD looking for a rewarding career path; and could easily support two optometrists, each working half-time to net six-figures.

Practice is EHR certified and features modern equipment in a remodeled building, designer brands and established staff.

Centrally located in the Four Corners area of the Southwest, Gallup is surrounded by outdoor activities, Native American culture, regional tourism, and cultural diversity. If you enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, cross-country skiing and mountain biking you will find a great life in Gallup.

About Our Practice:
With a well-established and diverse existing patient-base, Dr. Blake and Gallup Vision Source have served from the same prominent downtown location for almost 40 years.

We see an average of 300 patients per month and more than 3,000 patients annually, consistently making Gallup Vision Source a top performer among single-optometrist private practices statewide.

Our reputation as the premier practice in Gallup is built upon an outstanding level of service, quality designer eyewear, and a guarantee of products and services.

Adventure Capital of New Mexico:
Officially designated as the “Adventure Capital of New Mexico,” Gallup is home to fantastic mountain biking, hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Our town boasts a growing number—250 miles and counting—of singletrack mountain bike trails, and was host to the 2013-14 USAC National Endurance Mountain Bike Championships.

Gallup is centrally located in the Four Corners area of the Southwest, making for a short drive to countless tourist cities, resorts, and National Parks: perfect for weekend getaways, day trips and short vacations.

Patient Population:
With a population of approximately 22,000, Gallup’s patient population consists of 52% Native American, 28% Latin, and 20% White or Other. While extremely rich in culture, much of the local population lives in socioeconomic inequality and is predisposed to diabetes and astigmatism. As a commerce center for residents of the Navajo Nation, Gallup regularly sees its population double or quadruple on weekends.
